Hi, I’m Nick Miko. I don’t expect you to know who I am other than as the guy who live-streamed the Detroit City FC vs. Louisville City FC match on YouTube. I really wanted to stream it because I knew most people would not be able to attend the match. It was a big deal for our team, it was the first time we made it out of the first round of the US Open Cup.
The feedback I received about the quality of the stream blew me away. I had a really simple set up. By picking the right tools I was able to make it look awesome. After the match I decided to make a video to show people (other teams) how easy and affordable it was to do.

Today’s interview is with Jonathan Gardner of Burlingame Dragons FC. Burlingame is town in California, and the Dragons are the San Jose Earthquakes PDL affiliate. They also have a sweet logo, with one of the few good examples of how to do a soccer ball on logo. Jonathan was kind enough to actually take time on his vacation to do this interview, and not only that, he answered all the questions in one day! Check it out.
I wanted to preface this interview with an interesting note. This was almost the first live interview ever done here on the Pyramid. Over Thanksgiving, I was actually in Santa Fe and was supposed to potentially have time to sit down and interview Ron Patel face to face. That didn’t happen, but we still managed to get an interview done. It’s a fun interview, shedding some light on the city of Albuquerque, the history of soccer in New Mexico, and the teams 10 year plan. Check it out.

The Las Vegas Mobsters, founded in 2013, are the only Premier Development League (PDL) soccer club in the state of Nevada. The club was formed in response to the valley’s strong demand for top-level soccer and a true game-day experience. The team has not had an ideal start to their 2015 campaign, but hope to turn things around when they host Fresno Fuego on Saturday, June 6. We were lucky enough to speak with Carson Merk, Director of Social Media for the Las Vegas Mobsters. Carson gave us an inside look into the Las Vegas Mobsters history, current season, their supporters culture and more!
The First Round of the US Open Cup is documented by Non League America. The Seacoast United Phantoms of the PDL travel to Cambridge, MA to take on local side GPS Massachusetts.
